Your Role in our team
Your Mission

You drive data-driven decision-making by transforming complex data into reliable insights. You take ownership of analytical solutions end to end — from data exploration and model development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. You work closely with business and engineering stakeholders to ensure transparency, quality, and measurable impact across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Insight Generation
  • Apply statistical and analytical rigor to solve complex business problems.
  • Identify patterns and trends in data to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business dashboards to increase transparency and metric understanding.
2. Machine Learning & Training Data Evolution
  • Analyze existing ML structures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Define and create new training datasets based on observed data patterns.
  • Support the continuous evolution of models through data-driven experimentation.
  • Ensure datasets are representative, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
3. Data Engineering & Platform Contribution
  • Write high-integrity, maintainable code to retrieve, process, and analyze data from diverse sources.
  • Examine, validate, and onboard new datasets into the platform.
  • Contribute to a rapidly evolving, modern data platform using engineering best practices.
  • Stay up to date with modern technologies and data science methodologies.
4. Quality, Reliability & Measurement
  • Implement mechanisms to proactively measure and monitor the quality of data outputs.
  • Validate assumptions, detect anomalies, and ensure consistency across analyses.
  • Improve robustness and reliability of analytical pipelines and models.
  • Promote reproducibility, documentation, and clarity in all analytical work.

Your Profile
You are a great fit if you:
  • Have 2+ years of experience building production-grade systems.
  • Write fast, clean, and maintainable code in TypeScript, Node.js, React.
  • Understand backend fundamentals: Hexagonal Architecture, NestJs/Inversify, Express.js, AWS SQS/SNS, Sockets, PostgreSQL, TypeORM.
  • Know your way around AWS (ECS/EKS), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
  • Have experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
  • Work pragmatically: prefer simple solutions over abstractions.
  • Care deeply about testing and long-term reliability.
  • Take ownership of what you build — even after it ships.
  • Communicate clearly with engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Enjoy working in a lean, fast-moving team with minimal hierarchy.

Nice to have
  • Experience with observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry).
  • Prior work in distributed systems or microservices.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development workflows.

Why we founded marta.

When we were seeking 24-hour care for our loved ones, we often felt left alone in this complicated and highly overpriced market. In addition, we became angry when we realized that the agencies were taking most of the salary we paid our caregivers. After five years of unsuccessful search for a reputable agency, in 2020, we took on the mission to improve 24-hour care in Germany and ultimately founded marta.

In memory of Marta, who lovingly helped us care for our grandparents for years, we named the company after her.

We take our mission very seriously.

We firmly believe that caregivers will take better care of our loved ones if we at marta provide them with fair working and living conditions. Our goal is to fundamentally improve the 24-hour care market by building a platform that brings caregivers and families together without any other intermediaries. We enable caregivers to earn a better salary through lower placement fees without families paying more.

Als wir nach einer 24-Stunden-Betreuung für unsere Angehörigen suchten, fühlten wir uns auf einem undurchsichtigen und oft überteuerten Markt allein gelassen. Besonders frustrierend war die Erkenntnis, dass ein Großteil des Gehalts, das wir für die Betreuung zahlten, nicht bei den Pflegekräften ankam. Nach fünf Jahren erfolgloser Suche nach einer vertrauenswürdigen Lösung beschlossen wir 2020, marta zu gründen, um den Markt der 24-Stunden-Pflege fairer und transparenter zu gestalten.

Zu Ehren von Marta, die meine Großeltern jahrelang liebevoll betreut hat, trägt unser Unternehmen ihren Namen.

Unsere Mission ist klar: Wir glauben, dass Pflegekräfte eine bessere Betreuung leisten, wenn sie unter fairen Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen arbeiten. Deshalb haben wir eine Plattform entwickelt, die sowohl Betreuungskräfte als auch Familien mit intelligenten Softwarelösungen unterstützt. Diese ermöglichen eine reibungslose und direkte Zusammenarbeit. Durch niedrigere Vermittlungsgebühren schaffen wir es, dass Pflegekräfte ein höheres Einkommen erzielen, ohne dass die Familien mehr bezahlen müssen.
